I've finally made another Mime Baby Doll! I made some a couple of years ago, but due to the craziness of life haven't had the chance to make more. This little darling measures approx. 3.5 inches and is available for adoption!
I made these dolls in honor of my grandmother who this year, will be 100 years old! My grandmother is one of the people in my family that has used all kinds of mediums and supplies in her various art. In 1960 or so, she made 150 of of these mime/clown yo yo dolls for a charity auction. She said they were all over her house by the time she got them finished! LOL Her dolls were about 21 inches and were made to be pajama dolls. Kids would put their jammies on the doll to help keep their room cleaned up.
She described her dolls to me, and I made my own version of them in miniature. While my dolls are a combination of clay and cloth, her dolls were all cloth...including the face which she hand embroidered!
I finally got to see one of her original dolls a year or so ago when I moved her closer to family. She lived on her own and drove up until a couple of years ago.
This sweet little mime doll measures approx. 3.5 inches. It is weighted with tiny glass beads a polyfill.
